Growth Marketing Experiment #35116
Use exit-intent pop-ups to boost user retention or capture user information
Experiment Details
Exit-intent popups are a method of catching the attention of potential consumers who are about to leave your website. They’re activated when the user moves their mouse or cursor toward the browser’s close button or address bar to submit a new URL. Exit-intent popups can be used to improve conversion rates by targeting customers who are already interested in your product.
According to Conversion Sciences,10% to 15% percent of visitors can be retained by using exit-intent popups.
How to measure
Measure this by how many users complete the desired action in the popup. If the action is to click a button, track clicks. If the action is an embedded form, track form submissions. Make sure to also track bounce rate on the page with the exit popup using Google Analytics.
